Sounds good - the 37th annual convention for acoustics in Düsseldorf

Off once again! This time the DAGA opens its doors in the metropolis Düsseldorf on the Rhine.
It´s no accident, that the capital of the federal state of "Nordrhein Westfalen" was chosen as the venue.

Düsseldorf is not only of high influence in the fashion world. It also has a long standing reputation in the field of acoustics. In 1950 the International Radio Exhibition took place here for the first time after the Second World War. In 1949 Friedrich Trautwein, the inventor of the Trautonium (the predecessor of the synthesizer), founded the BIKLA (Academy for Sound and Vision) in Düsseldorf and in doing so laid the foundation for a nationwide and unique concept for studies in sound engineering. This tradition stands until today and is referred to by insiders as the "Düsseldorfer Ausbildung".

The "Institut für Arbeit und Sozialmedizin" (Institute for Industrial and Social Medicine) of the Heinrich Heine University is well known among experts for its research work in the field of environment noise. Equally the competence platform SAVE (Sound And Vibration Engineering) of the combined universities of applied sciences in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Aachen focuses know-how in the area of vibration technology, sound design, flow acoustics and simulation technology.
